About Beth

Beth Allgood is the founder and Executive Director of OneNature Institute, a non-profit that develops innovative approaches to measure and support community well-being in biodiversity and climate projects to create more sustainable outcomes for people and wildlife. Beth was recently named one of the Explorers Club’s “Fifty People Changing The World, The World Needs To Know About” in recognition of her innovative work and vision for transforming conservation.  

Beth’s work to create more sustainable outcomes for people and wildlife draws upon extensive experience in conservation and community development at organizations such as the Peace Corps, the United States Agency for International Development, the World Wildlife Fund, The Nature Conservancy, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Beth has led and coauthored 16 peer-reviewed academic papers and reports and has extensive experience leading campaigns, including right whale conservation, a US ivory ban, and well-being in conservation.

Beth is an experienced and inspiring speaker who has presented on Capitol Hill and the United Nations. She has been quoted in The Washington Post, USA Today, the Boston Globe, and NPR.

She has produced and moderated conservation sessions at the Jackson Wild Film Festival and Conservation Summit, the Wilson Center, and virtually.  She has been featured on podcasts and webinars, including Forces for Nature. and the Asheville Wisdom Exchange. Beth was the keynote speaker at the Animal Grantmakers Conference in 2023.  

Beth is also a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a certified Optimize Coach through the Heroic Coaching Program.

Beth is a consultant and advisor to several organizations. She is a member of three International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Commissions and the co-chair of the IUCN US National Committee Policy and Strategy Subcommittee.
